Theo Steel (Oct 14) claims his quango Renassance Southend did have plans for Southend Pier.
It also had plans to rip the heart out Southend, demolish York Road Market and cover the town in high density housing, which would attract more benefit scroungers.
While doing this, we see the abject failure of its plans and vision as we witness the closure of Warrior Square swimming pool.
The replacement has been stuck out in the middle of nowhere and will be inaccessible to town centre workers and residents alike.
Meanwhile Southend has now achieved national notoriety as the levels of benefit claimants approaches those of Liverpool.
Well done Renaissance Southend and Southend Conservatives for ruining my town and lining the pockets of developers.
