A cyclist died after his bike collided with a car.
The 56-year-old Hockley man suffered fatal injuries during the accident in Rawreth Lane, Rayleigh, outside the Park School.
The cyclist collided with a green Nissan Sunny car driven by a 39-year-old woman from Rayleigh An ambulance arrived at the scene within six minutes of the first 999 call. Paramedic manager Lisa Fautley said: "The man suffered very serious injuries and unfortunately nothing could be done to save him."
Police questioned the driver, but no action is being taken against her.
Police have asked that anyone who witnessed the accident, at around 11am on Friday, should contact them on 01268 775533.
