FOUR men ended up in hospital following a brawl at the bar co-owned by the Only Way is Essex star Ricky Rayment.

Police were called to Bar Blanco, in Eastwood Road, Rayleigh at 12.30am on Sunday after violence erupted.

Doormen had tried to evict a stag party of about ten men, when a fight broke out. Several people were injured.

One woman, who lives above the bar, but didn’t want to be named, said: “About five police cars turnedup. There was someone from Hullbridge seriously hurt. The fight started inside the bar. It was awful. They were throwing the outside furniture around. I understand people are going to be drinking, but this is getting out of control.”

The bar, which opened on November 30 last year, has been used for filming of the popular ITV2 show and is owned by Ricky and his uncle, Danny Salmon, who is also the vice president of Rayleigh’s Pubwatch scheme.

Mr Salmon said: “A group of lads were asked to leave and they didn’t want to. We don’t want people in here who are going to cause a nuisance.”

Mr Salmon said none of the Towie cast members were in the bar at the time.

He had three door staff working on the night and has already set up a meeting with the police’s licensing officer to discuss the incident.

He said: “There has been one incident in nearly eight months.

"We have got 24 CCTV cameras here.

“It is not acceptable. The people responsible will be barred from every bar in Rayleigh.”

A spokesman for Essex Police said officers were called to reports of a disturbance at Bar Blanco, but the trouble had dispersed.

Officers noticed trouble flaring outside the Co-op opposite and arrested a man. It is believed he may have been involved in the original brawl.

A spokesman said: “The 29- year-old manfrom Romford was arrested on suspicion of affray.

He has been bailed until August 27 pending further inquiries.

“Police are reviewing CCTV footage to ascertain what offences have been committed and identify suspects.

“Anyone with information should contact police on 101.”

The ambulance service confirmed they took four patients to Basildon Hospital. Their injuries are described as non life-threatening.
