THREE people have been charged with offences following an armed raid in Leigh on Wednesday.
The arrests were made in a joint operation between the Met Police's Flying Squad and Essex Police.
Patrick Claydon, 48, from the Brentwood area , Tommy Aitken, 37, of no fixed address and Sandra Clarke, 44, of Eastwood Road North, Leigh are all due to appear at Thames Magistrates Court in East London today.
They are all charged with conspiracy to rob the Belfairs Post Office in Leigh, and possession of prohibited weapons, a pump action smooth bore shotgun, and a stungun.
Claydon isalso charged with possession of a prohibited weapon a double barreled 12 bore shotgun.
They are all in police custody.
