Trains delayed after vehicle hits bridge

TRAINS between Southend to London are running late after a vehicle hit a bridge.

Trains on Greater Anglia’s line between Southend Victoria and London Liverpool Street are delayed by up to 10 minutes after the vehicle hit the railway bridge at about 9.30am today.

Trains are running over the bridge affected by this incident at a slower speed than normal, until Network Rail engineers complete full safety checks.

An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.

See www.greateranglia.co.uk for more details.

Surprised they do not do as normal and take a picture of some random bridge near the Echo offices and use that as the main picture. Bit like the random police cars and cordon tape when they cannot be assed to attend the scene !!

According to the railway web site it is in Raileigh (presumably either at the end of the station or over Hambro Hill as they are the two that are always getting hit)

I presume this story has been culled from the Greater Anglia twitter feed, as that just states a bridge near Rayleigh has been hit.

It's not lazt journalism, but the information provided could be better

GA was just recovering from delays in Ilford at about 9am and then this happens, no doubt causing more delays..the service has been truely awful recently, every single journey I've take has been late.
