TWO men have been arrested and charged following a burglary in Thorpe Bay.
A member of public reported two men acting suspiciously on Colbert Avenue, Thorpe Bay, at about 3.30pm yesterday.
After responding to the call, police officers saw two men make off into a park and they were detained a short time later. Discarded jewellery was found in the area following a thorough police search.
Unemployed Jacob Utton, 24, of Hastings Road, Southend, was charged with three counts of burglary in St Augustines Avenue, Burges Road and Colbert Avenue, Thorpe Bay, and will appear before Magistrates in Southend today.
Ian Kempen, 29, from Stanley Road, Southend, is charged with the same offences but he is bailed to appear at Southend Magistrates Court on January 31.
