Billericay nursery shut down as a woman is arrested during police investigation
Updated 6:11pm Wednesday 19th February 2014 in Local News
A Billericay nursery has been shut down for six weeks and put under police investigation.
The Abacus Day Nursery, at Orchard House Nursery, in Orchard Avenue, has had its registration suspended while County Hall and Essex Police investigate circumstances surrounding allegations at the centre.
A 49-year-old woman from Wickford was arrested yesterday in connection to the investigation, but has since been released on bail.
The force has refused to say what she has been arrested on, but have confirmed it is not sexual assault.
Ofsted has suspended the nursery's licence.
