CONSTRUCTION students at South Essex College were visited by one of the world’s leading companies for training.
Staff from construction giant, Skanska, gave more than 50 students injury free environment training to help their awareness of health and safety on construction sites, an area where many of the students are seeking careers.
Skanska has received a number of safety awards for many of its projects, and gave the students the same level of training given to all employees of the company.
A spokesman for South Essex College said: “At the end of the informative and insightful day students were all awarded a certificate to confirm they had taken part in the day’s training.”
Skanska has strong links with the college because the company is the main contractor on the new £45million Thurrock Campus, opening this September.
