Terminally-ill guitarist Wilko Johnson will play the UK’s biggest festival this summer.
Former Dr Feelgood guitarist Wilko, who lives in Westcliff, has been announced as one of the acts to play Glastonbury this summer.
He is currently on a high with his album, ‘Going Back Home’, penned with The Who’s Roger Daltrey, entering the UK Albums Chart at number three last weekend.
Glastonbury Festival, which takes place in Somerset, is scheduled for June 27 to 29, but the day Wilko will play has yet to be announced.
He will join headliners Arcade Fire and Kasabian at the festival, with Metallica rumoured to be the final bill-topper.
He was diagnosed with cancer last year, but vowed to continue playing.
He will also appear at metal festival Sonisphere, at Knebworth, in July.
