POLICE believe that these two men could have been working together to steal goods from a Rochford supermarket.

Echo:

They are asking the public for help identifying them after theft at Sainsbury’s in West Street on March 9.

They are believed to have filled a basket with £22-worth of food before leaving without paying.

Anyone who knows who they are is asked to call Pc Paul Ledger, at Rayleigh police station on 101.

How do they know the food in the basket was valued at £22?

What are the point of these Echo appeals? How many of these alleged thieves are identified and arrested? There's never an Echo report a few weeks later saying that they have been arrested. To me, stories like this are not really in the public interest. I believe shoplifting should be more of a civil matter anyway. It can't just be ignored no, but it's hardly crime of the century.

He will get a slap on the wrist if that! Its clear that he changed his plea to guilty in return for them dropping the more serious charges 90% probability he will get a fine. Watch and see,,,,,,,
