Police appeal for help to find Wickford fuel thief

POLICE have appealed for public help to find a suspected Wickford fuel thief.

A passenger in a silver BMW, with registration plat YU88 KEO, put £70 of fuel into the care at the BP/Safeway filling station in Cranfield Park Avenue at 4.45pm on Thursday, April 3.

The passenger got back into the rear of the car before the driver pulled away without attempting to pay.

Anyone who can identify the passenger or has information on the car’s whereabouts should contact Pc Paula Hopkins at Basildon Retail Crime Unit on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
