Care home residents given a taste of Flamenco

First published in Local News

RESIDENTS at a Billericay care home were given a taste of Spain when a Flamenco dancer popped in to entertain them.

Sandra La Espuelita performed at a tea party which was celebrating the homes spruced up gardens.

A colourful haven has been created at Admiral Court, in Outwood Common Road, Billericay, as part of a nationwide gardening competition at all Hallmark Care Homes.

Judges from Thrive, a national charity which promotes the therapeutic benefits of gardening, visited the home to admire their green-fingered handiwork.

Kim Gandy says...

I have seen Sandra dance and she is brilliant.

I studied flamenco for five years and was part of a dance group until life took over and work interfered too much. But I have not entirely hung up my dance shoes and beautiful flamenco outfits.

It's a fantastic way to keep fit and is a dance full of passion and drama. I love it.

What a marvellous way to perk up a summer's day for the elderly residents.
