ALL is not lost. Far from it in fact. Southend United’s amazing run of form (seven wins out of seven games), may have come to grinding halt away to Morecambe on Saturday, but promotion to League One is still a very real possibility.

And, of course, it can now be achieved in the best way possible – by winning a Wembley final.

The Blues rich vein of form makes them favourites for their play-off semi-final which, should they win, would give the club a memorable day out at the Home of Football.

So, fingers crossed, it could yet be a summer of double celebration.

Last week, the club’s chairman, Ron Martin, was keen to brace fans for a significant forthcoming announcement concerning the long-mooted move to the new stadium complex, at Fossetts Farm.

He hinted there was a new development partner in the wings, but due to commercial sensitivity, couldn’t say any more.

So, hopefully with Southend and its fans basking in the glory, we look forward to this big news in June.

The announcement, whether or not coupled with promotion, could prove to be the start of an exciting new era for our beloved Blues.
