A BOY was found with a BB gun following a police search.

Police were called to Basildon Town Centre yesterday following reports of a boy with a gun.

Police searched the town centre and surrounding areas and found a boy with a bb gun.

An Essex police spokesman said: “Police were called at 2.20pm on Sunday March 13 to reports of a group of teenagers acting suspiciously near the Eastgate Shopping Centre, Basildon.

“One youth was thought to be carrying what looked like a gun.

“Officers attended and searched the area and a boy was found at 7.30pm with a BB gun so no offence was committed.”
