PLANNING officers at Basildon Council have backed plans to transform the Laindon Centre.
Swan Housing submitted a planning application in November that proposes wholesale redevelopment of the failing shopping centre to bring about a brand new high street with shops, a new Swan office, a modern health centre and homes.
Officers at Basildon Council have recommended the application for approval, ahead of a meeting on Tuesday which see the plans taken to a vote.
