A GREEN area has been recognised with a top award.
Langdon Lake and Meadow has picked up the Health Site of the Year award at the Land Trust Awards 2017 thanks to the range of events and activities on offer.
The 16-hectare site in Basildon is managed by Essex Wildlife Trust on behalf of the Land Trust.
The award recognised the continuing high numbers of recorded health activities that take place on the site.
Simon Pile, estates manager south at the Land Trust, collected the award on behalf of park ranger Lucy Sawyer-Boyd. He said: βItβs fantastic to see Langdon Lake and Meadow being recognised in this way. Lucy and all the Essex Wildlife Trust staff and volunteers work really hard to engage people on the site and encourage them to use it in all sorts of ways.β
