A MAN blasted on his doorstep in a gangland-style shooting has been released from hospital.
Douglas Turner, 52, suffered arm and stomach wounds when he was shot outside his home, Kings Head Farm, in Stock Road, Stock.
Det Insp Glenn Maleary said: "We have spoken briefly to the victim after he was released from hospital.
"However, he remains in a very poorly condition and has been unable to offer us a full statement and account of what happened."
Mr Maleary said police had been encouraged by the response from the local community, who had come forward with valuable information.
Witnesses to the shooting, which happened at 9.20pm on Saturday, can contact police at Chelmsford on 01245 491491.
