FRIENDS and family of Brian Belo have joined the Echo's bid to unite the whole of South Essex behind everyone's favourite Basildon boy.

The former data entry clerk, from Ampers End, Basildon, is up for eviction from the Big Brother house for the first time tonight.

Hopefully, the 20-year-old won't have any worries as he has won viewers' hearts with his Essex-boy banter and genuine nature.

Now the Echo is urging readers to support him all the way to the final, and Brian's friends and family have joined in the campaign.

His mum, Sue, 53, said: "Come on Essex, please back Brian right to the end. He's a lovely boy and deserves to win."

His nephew, Tye Wood, six, from Basildon, said: "Brian's my hero.

"I watch him every night on the TV and it's weird to think I know him. He's the best - please support him."

Viewers will not be able to vote to keep Brian in the show tonight, as they can only vote for the person they want to leave at this stage. But if he makes it to the final, on August 31, the public will vote for the housemate they want to win.

Brian's aunt, Rhona, 42, of Hartford End, Pitsea, said: "Brian is a true Essex boy and a proper Basildon lad. I get the feeling people round here know he's doing us proud."

Family friend, Jill Burt, 48, of Fenners Way, Basildon, said: "I think he's done really well so far and the public seem to like him.

"I think he's got a really good chance of winning. Please support my mate Brian."
