PARENTS can pick up potentially lifesaving tips on car seat safety at a new centre in Rayleigh.

The facility, run by Essex County Council, is set to open its doors Friday, August 24, at Lubbards Farm, in Hullbridge Road, Rayleigh, after moving from its old home in Kiln Road, Thundersley.

Mums and dads can obtain free, unbiased advice on the best infant carriers and car seats to suit their kids, plus information on new selt belt legislation.Norman Hume, cabinet member for transportation, said: "I'm delighted the council has been able to secure the future of the south Essex centre.

"Surveys have shown that two out of three child car seats are not fitted properly."

The new centre will be open on Tuesdays from 1pm until 2.30pm and Fridays from 10.30am until 3pm. For more information, call 01268 297591.
