PARENTS will be getting top tips on how to get their children the best school places by a best-selling author.
Francis Gilbert, who wrote I'm A Teacher, Get Me Out Of Here, and Teacher On the Run, will be giving a talk to parents at Waterstone's bookshop, in Southend High Street.
His latest book, the New School Rules, shows parents how to play the school system to their advantage and offers advice on how to get children to settle at school and deal with peer pressure.
