Raging inferno - the blaze was captured on camera by Echo reader LES THORINGTON
A QUICK- thinking resident captured the moment a builder's van went up in flames.
Les Thorington, 73, photographed this dramatic scene in Hadleigh Road, Leigh.
The pensioner was sat at his computer when he suddenly smelt burning and reached for his camera.
He said: "I wondered what the hell it was then I heard the van's alarm go off and looked out the window.
"There were flames coming out of the cab. I grabbed my camera and took some pictures.
"The fire brigade arrived quickly and put out the flames. It was very lucky it didn't blow up."
No one was hurt in the incident.
