THE SOUTHEND-bound carriageway of the A13 was closed following a two-car crash.
The accident happened between the Five Bells and Pitsea junction and left oil across the road.
One person was put on a stretcher and taken to hospital by ambulance.
It was not known how badly they had been injured.
