A MAN appeared at court today charged with robbing a security guard as he filled an ATM machine.
Carl Weighman, 25, of no fixed address, was arrested by police minutes after the robbery happened at 12.30am on Tuesday <15>, outside the Abbey national in Alexandra Street, Southend.
He did not enter a plea to the charge at Southend Magistrate's Court and was remanded in custody, until his next hearing at Basildon Crown Court on June 28.
A 27-year woman from Southend, who was also arrested has been released without charge.
