SOUTHEND Pier provided the finishing line for a superhero cyclist who biked 31 miles in memory of a cancer victim.
Paul Thompson, 39, rode from Dagenham to the pier dressed as Spider-Man.
Paul and his fiancee, Sue Margetts, 41, are aiming to raise money for a memorial bench for their friend’s daughter, Kerry Killeen, 34, who died in July.
Sue said they had already collected more than £600 and hoped to give any extra cash to the Royal Brompton Hospital, in west London, which cared for Kerry.
She said: “Southend Pier was just the natural destination. For us, it is our local beach, and cycling from London to Southend is a popular ride so Paul thought he would do it from our home in Dagenham in memory of Kerry.”
