A MUM of two boys is so distraught at the horiffic death of Baby P she is helping to organise a national rally to get justice for the tragic tot.

Cherry Osborne, 24, is calling on parents across south Essex to travel up to Parliament Square in London on Saturday, December 13, to march for Baby P.

He died at the hands of his abusive mother and her boyfriend, in north London, in August last year.

The event, to be held between 11am and 5pm, is expected to attract thousands of people from all corners of the country, eager to protest about the way Haringey Council failed to act and save the 17-month old boy.

This despite more than 60 visits from the authorities.

His death has sparked national outrage about the child protection system, with calls for heads to roll at Haringey Council and pleas for his abusers to get the maximum prison sentences available when they are sentenced next month.

Cherry, from Vange, who has two boys, aged three and ten months, is so angry she is helping organise the event, which may also include a march to Downing Street.

She said: “As a parent, I just can’t understand how this could have happened.

“I think as many people as possible from south Essex should travel up to London, with their children if possible, to march for Baby P and ensure what happened to him never happens again. We want to show the powers that be we will not stand for this.

“I was so disgusted by the injuries Baby P had and how much he suffered that I decided to get involved.

“What we also desperately need is people with first aid skills or security personnel to give up a few hours of their free time to attend the protest.

“There has to be a certain number of first aiders and security specialist there in order for the march to go ahead.”

Cherry is also planning to visit schools across Basildon to ask local children to let off bunches of blue balloons into the sky at 3pm on the day of the protest in memory of Baby P.

Anyone who wants to help at the march can call the main organiser, Stacey Crisp, on 07792 643382.
