EASTENDERS star Kara Tointon will be opening this year's outdoor ice rink at the Festival Leisure Park in Basildon on Saturday.
The 25-year-old from Westcliff, who plays Dawn Swan in the popular BBC drama, will open the rink with the help of Basildon Council chairman, Frank Tomlin and the cast of this year’s Christmas panto at the Towngate Theatre, Cinderella.
The official ribbon-cutting is at 10.45am and, from 11am onwards, there is free skating for the first 380 people in the queue.
The 30m x 20m rink will be open from 10am to 10pm seven days a week until mid-January.
