PEOPLE on low incomes are being advised by council staff on their entitlement to benefits as part of a special event.
Southend Council held a benefits awareness day at Victoria Shopping Centre.
Also at the event was the council’s family information service, Jobcentre Plus and representatives from the Citizens Advice Bureau, Southend Credit Union and DIAL.
Andrew Moring, cabinet member for corporate support services, said, “The council is keen to make sure that everyone who’s entitled to housing benefit or council tax benefit knows where to go and what to do.”
