MORE than 120 people took part in the third Thurrock 5K Fun Run, in Chafford Hundred.

The run raised money for the Ryan Cassar Appeal, Parkinson’s Disease, the Royal National Lifeboat Institute and a host of other charities.

Event organisers, Belinda and Daniel Lowe, were pleased with the turnout.

Mrs Lowe said: “We were delighted with the response and the fantastic turnout on a glorious day.

“I would like to thank everyone who entered, the volunteers and everyone else who helped to raise money for these very good causes. The support of local people has been overwhelming.”

The next run will be a Santa Fun Run on December 7. Everyone who enters receives a Santa suit to run in. Last year, more than 130 Santas took part.
