A PHOTOGRAPHER who made illicit films of female swimmers has narrowly avoided a jail term.
Michael Matthews, of Tamarisk Road, South Ockendon, was caught out by a commuter who saw him watching a film he had made of unsuspecting girls.
Matthews, 40, filmed his unsuspecting victims during a gala just days earlier.
But he was caught and arrested.
He admitted outraging public decency and was given a 28 week suspended prison sentence.
