A FABULOUS village fete, jam-packed with activities to entertain the whole family, is being held next weekend.

The Festival at Burstead will take place in the grounds of St Mary Magdalene Church, in Great Burstead, on Saturday, June 27.

The fete will kick off at 11am with a blast of Scottish bagpipes, after which visitors can check out a variety of amusements including children’s maypole dancing, the chance to see owls, a Punch and Judy show, lacemaking demonstrations, and woodcraft and handicraft stalls.

There will also be arena events, including martial arts and a display by the Phoenix Dog Club, as well as darts, a tombola, a tin-can alley, and much more.

The popular Tilbury Band will also be there to get your feet tapping.

And if all this has given you a ravenous appetite, there will be a barbecue on offer, as well as sandwiches and cakes, and of course, ice cream.

The fete is open until about 4pm and there is plenty of parking.
