BUSINESS studies students from Benfleet had a lesson in the world’s biggest shop on a trip to New York.
A 20-strong group from Appleton School took part in two business workshops during their trip to the Big Apple. One was in the biggest department store in the world, Macy’s and the other at Madame Tussauds’ New York branch.
At Macy’s they learned about marketing, recruitment and merchandising, while at Tussauds they were taught the differences between the UK and US markets.
Business and enterprise manager Gulin Farrance, who accompanied the students, said: “We had some time to see a few famous sights, too. We went to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and took in a Broadway show. It was an exhilarating trip.”
