HOSPICE chiefs are urging people to get fit for fun with the annual St Luke’s 5km run around Gloucester Park in Basildon.

The annual event takes place on September 13. Hundreds of participants are expected to run, stroll or jog around the course.

Organiser Kerry Chambers said “Over the past two years, the run has slowly built up from a 90 participant run to over 300 people taking part last year.”

All proceeds raised through the run will go towards the running of the hospice, based in Nethermayne.

As well as serious runners, participants are welcome to take part in fancy dress and to run the course at their own pace.

Entry costs £6 for adults and £4 for children.
