CHILDREN learned about healthy eating when a national roadshow went to their school.
Woodham Ley Primary School, in Rushbottom Lane, Benfleet, became one of only a handful of schools nationwide to receive a visit from the Flora Cooking with Schools team, after pupils collected promotional vouchers from tubs of margarine.
Games were organised to teach the youngsters about the nutritional value of fruit and vegetables and they helped a professional chef to prepare the ingredients for fruit scones at the event.
Cooking and technology teacher Dominic Brusted said: “They had the cameras here so it was a bit like Ready Steady Cook. It was a lot of fun and we hope to do it again in the future.”
