SCHOOL choirs from across the borough will lead the singing at the Castle Point Mayor’s annual Christmas Carol concert.

The Hadleigh Salvation ARmy band will provide the music at the free event on Sunday, December 13, which is the traditional beginning to festivities in Castle POint.

Tickets are not necessary for the event at Runnymede Hall, in Kiln Road, Thundersley.

There will be a collection in aid of Cancer Research UK. Doors open at 7.30pm when coffee will be served and carols commence at 8pm.

This year students from Seevic college will be presenting the 12 Days of Christmas and there will be seasonal readings from local people.

Mayor Cliff Brunt said: “This is a really lovely beginning to the festive season in Castle Point, bringing together people from all areas of the community and from all age ranges.

“Each year the money raised goes to Cancer Research UK and I hope we can continue to support the charity in this way for many years to come.”
