ANGRY residents have slammed Highways bosses for "illogical" plans to put speed bumps and mini roundabouts along a busy stretch of road.
Residents living on Whitmore Way, in Basildon, say the proposals - which would see the sleeping policeman along the whole two mile road - will lead to congestion and aggravate drivers.
They also want to know why Essex County Council, which is behind the plan, did not consult them first.
However, highways bosses say the road is an accident hot spot and the measures are vital to drive down casualties.
