RESIDENTS in Shotgate are being warned major roadworks are due to take place soon.
A scheme to renovate a 340m stretch of Hodgson Way will take place between January 18 and 25.
The works on the road, which is the main route to Wickford business park and Shotgate industrial estate, came after repeated complaints were made to Shotgate Parish Council.
The work will see traffic which normally uses Hodgson Way being diverted down the residential road Bruce Grove, where there will be a 20mph speed limit in place.
Essex County Council has said any damage caused by heavy traffic on the road will be repaired after the work is completed, which is expected to be by the end of March.
