MORE than 50 homes have suffered repeated power cuts during the freezing weather.
Problems started shortly after 1pm on Friday when 54 properties in Brightwell Avenue, Westcliff, lost power. Homes in the road suffered another cut between 11am and 3pm on Saturday.
EDF spokeswoman Tracey Sparling said: “EDF Energy Networks would like to apologise to some customers in Brightwell Avenue, Westcliff, who have recently experienced interruptions to their power supplies, on occasions in December and January.
“We would like to reassure customers our engineers investigated and repaired a faulty underground cable over the weekend, plus rearranged the network to ensure more reliable power supplies in future.”
