A MAN who tricked young women into believing he was a police officer and then kidnapped them has been told to expect jail.

Lee Walker, 21, appeared at Chelmsford Crown Court yesterday and admitted five counts of impersonating a police officer and counts of kidnap and false imprisonment last October 13 and 14. Walker, of Doulton Way, Rochford, who committed the offences in the Braintree and Witham area, was told by Judge David Turner QC to prepare for a prison sentence.

The court heard Walker was given an 18-month sentence in December 2008 for similar offences.

He pretended to be a police officer and kidnapped two teenage girls in Westcliff.

He handcuffed them to his car and drove them around, pretending to communicate with other officers through an earpiece and radio, then frisked the girls and allowed them to leave.

Days later he failed to abduct two girls in Gazelle Drive, Canvey. He also grabbed a 15-year-old girl around the waist in the Chase, Rayleigh, but she broke free and raised the alarm.

Walker is due to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court for sentencing in February.
