ESSEX Fire Authority members have approved a 2.7 per cent rise in the amount people pay towards the service in their council tax.
The service sets its own precept, alongside Essex Police and parish councils, which is then added to Essex County Council’s share.
The authority approved the rise, which would mean people will pay £66.42 per year, or £1.27 per week, for fire services on an average Band D property.
