A TROUBLESOME family have been given two weeks to leave their home.

The family, who live in South Ockendon, have been constantly abusive to their neighbours.

They were taken to Basildon County Court by Thurrock Council – which owns the family’s home – where a judge told them they must leave their house by June 3 or face being served with a warrant for their eviction.

Lucy Magill, head of Thurrock Council’s public protection, said: “We have tried a number of different ways to resolve issues around this family, including the use of the Family Intervention Project.

“But they have consistently refused our offers of help and negotiation. Neighbours should no longer have to tolerate this antisocial behaviour, and we are pleased at the result we achieved in court.”

Thurrock Council is not naming the family, who appeared last Friday, or where they live because of children involved in the proceedings.
