WORK to replace the crumbling road surface of a busy Southend Road will start at 9am Tuesday June 1.
Resurfacing work on Whitehouse Road is expected to make the road surface stronger and smoother when the work ends a week later.
Access for residents and through traffic will be maintained by Stop and Go manually-operated boards or temporary traffic lights.
Councillor Mark Flewitt is responsible fro transport and planning at Southend Council.
He said: “This work will benefit the residents of Whitehouse Road because the new surface will be so much smoother and noise pollution from passing traffic will be greatly reduced as a result.”
