BURGLARS broke into a Southend house and slashed a teenager in the face.
The attack took place at around 3.30am this morning at a house in North Avenue, in Southend.
The two thugs, who had covered their faces with scarves, entered the house but were disturbed by a 47-year-old woman and her 18-year-old son.
The burglars threatened the woman with violence and when the teenager put up a fight one of the thugs slashed him across the face with a knife.
He was taken to Southend Hospital but is now recovering at home.
The pair then made off with a widescreen TV and stereo system.
