FIREFIGHTERS from Grays were called out at 5.30pm after a car left the road and hit a garage adjoining a house in Juniper Drive, South Ockendon.
Nobody needed freeing from the vehicle but the firefighters were called out to deal with an unsafe structure, thought to be the garage.
The service’s Urban Search and Rescue team, based at Lexden near Colchester, which is equipped with specialist equipment for dealing with collapsed buildings was mobilised.
However, it was recalled before arriving as its equipment was not needed but the woman driver of the car suffered shock and was left in the care of the East of England Ambulance Service.
