A PLANNED power cut to allow an upgrade to Southend hospital’s electrical services will put lifts, phones and lights temporarily out of action this Sunday.
The work will be carried out between 7am and 7pm, with a total power shut-down for some areas of the hospital between 10am and 11am, although the Cardigan wing will remain unaffected.
All essential equipment will continue to work, but phone calls to the hospital will be untransferrable between departments, and people are asked to only call if absolutely necessary, with a team of runners set to dispatch urgent messages.
