THE first stage of work on a new state-of-the-art terminal building at Southend airport has begun.
The new terminal is being built between the airport's new £3million control tower and the current terminal buildings.
It will handle both arrivals and departures and is designed to allow passengers to pass swiftly through the airport with minimal delays.
