A HAMMER-wielding robber smashed his way into a till in front of shocked staff and customers.
Workers were busy serving customers at the Tesco Express in Drake Road, Chafford Hundred when the attack happened.
The raider burst in and jumped over the counter.
He then pulled out a hammer and, as terrified Witnesses to the robbery, which happened at 7.20pm on Thursday, can contact detectives at Grays CID on 0300 333 4444.
