THE official Olympic Games mascot will wear an outfit designed by a Wickford teenager.
Beth Siddle, 14, a pupil at Beauchamps High School, won a national competition by creating Wickford-inspired clothes for London 2012’s mascot, Wenlock.
A version of the mascot wearing Beth’s outfit will appear on the games’ website and in promotions.
A pin badge featuring her design will also go on sale in the London 2012 online shop later this year.
More than 2,500 pupils from across the UK entered the competition.
Beth, 14, said: “The jigsaw pieces in my design represent the different members within the community in Wickford and how they all fit together.
“The green areas represent how environmentally friendly our area has become with recycling.”
