SOUTH Essex girl duo 2 Shoes have ended their X Factor run.
Charley Bird and Lucy Texeira were one of four acts to leave the X Factor tonight, Sunday.
Judge Tulisa Contostavlos decided to send the girls home, telling them: “I can’t even find a reason to say why, I just had to pick and I’m so sorry girls. I’ve got to know all my acts really well and I class you as my friends now.”
Taking to Facebook before tonight’s show, the pair said: “Feeling a bit ult nerve but really proud of what we’ve achieved.”
They faced stiff competition from Nu-Vibe, the Risk and Rhythmix.
The girls took the rejection with good grace and thanked Tulisa for including them in the live shows, telling her: “We are just so proud that we made it this far and this whole journey has been amazing. We are the best of friends and this has brought us closer.”
Now just 12 acts continue in the hope of lifting this year’s X Factor crown. Misha Bryan, Janet Devlin and Sophie Habibis remain in the Girls, Marcus Collins, Craig Colton and Frankie Cocozza are still in the Boys category, Rhythmix, Nu Vibe and the Risk are in the Groups and Kitty Brucknell, Sami Brookes and Johnny Robinson remain in the Over 25s.
