TWO men who were held in Spain accused of attempted murder are back on home soil.

Kyle Thain, 25, and James Harris, 29, are both back in Southend after a seven-month nightmare in Spain.

James, of Pelham Road, Southend, returned on Tuesday night and Kyle, of Sandringham Road, Southend, landed at Stansted Airport at 6.30pm tonight.

He was met by his mum, Sharon Harris, who hugged him and welcomed him back into the country.

Before meeting him, his mum Sharon Harris, 56, said: “I feel a bit sick to be honest, it’s just so exciting.

“Eight of us are going in two cars and we have balloons at the ready.”

The two friends paid £6,000 each for their bail conditions to be altered for them to be allowed back to the UK.

They were jailed on July 8 last year and accused of attempted murder after a fight in a bar near Alicante led to two men being stabbed.

Kyle and James deny ever being in the bar and say it is a terrible case of mistaken identity which they hope will soon be dropped.
