POLICE officers flocked to Newington Avenue, Southend, this afternoon to arrest a man wanted on recall to prison.
Lee Whyte, 29, was last known to be living in Basildon.
He was wanted on recall to prison after breaching his parole.
The police helicopter was called to assist officers on the ground who successfully arrested Whyte just before 1.30pm.
Eyewitnesses claim there were eight police cars in Newington Avenue and surrounding streets Philpott Avenue and Whittingham Avenue.
He is now being questioned by officers at Southend police station.
